Todd Brighton specializes in interactive presentations that bring to life the everyday experiences of citizens and soldiers during the American Revolution.  His most popular program, Forging a Nation: Patriot Artifacts and Stories from the American Revolution, features original pieces from his private collection and connects them to seven Patriots who served in the conflict.  Adding a personal dimension, Todd’s fourth- and fifth-great-grandfathers, Garrit Brass and Gideon Matthews, were among those who served in the Revolutionary War.  By combining historical research, family heritage, and artifacts collected over 25 years, Todd brings the lives of the American Revolution’s ordinary, often unsung heroes into sharper focus, making this important period more accessible, vivid, and engaging for modern audiences.

“My son and I were recently accepted into the National Society Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) through our lineage to two Patriot ancestors who served in the Revolutionary War. Through my lecture series, I hope to honor the memory of the men and women whose service and sacrifice helped secure American independence.”

Over the past few years, I have truly enjoyed providing these presentations to organizations and community groups - the positive response has been wonderful.  To ensure I can continue to offer a high-quality presentation and cover the time and travel involved, I will be implementing a modest speaker's fee.  This nominal stipend is intended only to help offset costs associated with creating and delivering a dynamic and engaging experience.
